Five life-long shark lovers as well as conservationists joined forces almost two years ago to form a unique “special forces” team. Together, we are leading a grassroots movement to save one of the most feared and hunted animal on the planet. Tired of meaningless talk and distracting politics, Shark Angels is all about action; getting into the trenches and doing real work to save a critical species.

We have a singular goal and believe that by harnessing the power of the passionate, together, we have the power to do what many disparate efforts cannot: together we can save sharks. And we do this by creating a network of shark angels around the world who rise above politics to collaborate and combine disparate efforts, raising awareness to the critical issues, inspiring others through our actions, changing perspectives, and leveraging the media to expose the truth.

As part of our mission, we are a globally active team that possess strong relationships with Angels in the field, scientists, conservationists, naturalists, divers and even fisherman worldwide. We go wherever we are needed most, to the last remaining shark strongholds – and where sharks are under attack. Our contacts and knowledge help us infiltrate controversial locations and get right to the core of each issue, uncovering a complex web of politics and multi-faceted problems – there is no easy enemy or answer in the business of sharks.

Steathily and patiently, we gather our intelligence while capturing all of this on film (video and photography), so we can expose the truth to the world; let them see what we see in the hopes of bringing about awareness and change. Then we work to create grassroots approaches to tackle each challenge, with media playing a key role – turning the tides for sharks in each threatened location. We work to empower local communities to take back their sharks.

And, the Shark Angels are inspiring others around the world to take a stand for what they believe in – whether it is on the Internet, in a fishing village in Mozambique, on a beach in South Africa, in a fancy restaurant in Los Angeles, in a classroom in New Zealand or at a market in Indonesia. Angels around the world are coming together, empowered by the movement and actions of the original Shark Angels to save sharks from a looming extinction.  

Representing the new generation of conservationists, the Shark Angels leverage whatever tactics are necessary to save sharks: direct action and intervention, grassroots activism, guerilla marketing, cutting edge science and technology, viral media, and targeted education. We are taking shark conservation into the mainstream, putting a necessary focus on collaboration, and making it a battle everyone can, and wants to, fight.
